15th Anniversary

Jason and I will have our 15th wedding anniversary this week.  WOW. . . . . . . .  With so much going on right now (the loss of my father, soccer, softball), we will not be able to celebrate this week, maybe sometime soon.

As I said in a previous post, we met while we were both working at Walmart about 17 years ago, and dated for 2 years.  We were married September 1, 1996 in a small country church.  Jason is a dedicated husband, who not only works anywhere from 40 to 56 hours a week, but is a volunteer firefighter.  He has been through lots of training over the years, and it has paid off in a big way.  We had just went to bed around 10 pm one night about a year ago, when there was frantic knocking at our door.  Jason opened the door to find the neighbors with their 10 month old son chocking on a nickel.  Jason did not panic at all but went straight to the Heimlick.  He got that nickel up and the little boy is fine.  I do not think I could have done it.

Jason is big on sports and played them all growing up, except football, which he wanted to play the most, but was not allowed.  Jason was shot with a BB Gun when little and the BB went into his ear and lodged into his brain behind his nose.  His parents were told he would not make it through the night, but God was watching over him.  He was not allowed to play rough sports to where the BB could be jarred, they could not remove it.  So he concentrated on Basketball and did very well.  His picture (with the team) is hanging up in the entrance way to the High School gym.  He has coached the kids sports teams over the years, baseball, softball, upward basketball.

When Megan was little she wanted to paint Jason's toenails and he would let her.  Once he had a doctor appt and forgot about his toes being painted and when the doctor asked him to take off his socks and he laughed and said "do I have to", well he had to and the doctor laughed and said "don't worry, I have daughters too."  LOL.....

Love you Jason, Happy Anniversary.
