All Star Music Resort - Disney

This post is for my family in Pennsylvania who are going to Disney next year and are thinking about staying at the Disney All Star Music Resort where we stayed at in January of this year.  Or for anyone else thinking of staying there while at Disney.  We are also going with them next year.

Here is a map of the hotel.  As you can see there are alot of buildings and we stayed in #2 Jazz Inn.  Melody Hall is the lobby and food court.  It can be quite a walk if you are in building #5 or 6.  The transportation buses pick you up in front of Melody Hall.  There are 2 pools, they are A and D.  There are 2000 rooms at this Resort and 10 different hotel buildings.  There are pool side activities all day long for the kids, like scavanger hunts, hula hoop contests, trivia games, dancing, etc.  They also have portrait painters in the lobby and a lady that does the thread wraps in the hair.

This is the view from outside our room.  We were on the back side of the resort (towards the parking lot).
Another view from outside our room.
We stayed in a Family Suite because there were 6 of us in our group.  And it worked out very well and the room was nice for the price.  We stayed there 5 nights.

Inside our FAMILY SUITE.  This is the living room.  The couch and chair and foot rest all turn into beds.  In the back is the 1st bathroom.

Every night there is a pool side showing of a family movie on a big screen.
This is us waiting for the bus to take us to one of the parks.
There is a large game room at the resort.

Here are some pictures from around the resort.

The guitar pool at night.

This green building is the laundry room.

This is one of the Jazz buildings that we stayed in.

This is one large set of drums that is 3 stories high.

 Outside our building.

This is looking down from our building to the buildings that are farther away from lobby.  They keep going on around too.  The piano pool is back there.
Here we are walking to the piano pool.

Walking from our building to the lobby.  We have to walk past the guitar pool.
 The calypso inn (#1 building).
The guitar pool and the lobby and food court are at the big star building.

Going into the lobby and food court area.  There is also a souviner shop in there.
View of the guitar pool from the lobby door.  If you can see the big Jazz head to the top of the buildings on the right that is where our building was.  It was a little bit of a walk from lobby.

Nic and Megan in the guitar pool.  This pool is very large.

If you are planning a trip to Disney World, a great website to use is wdwinfo.com.  I did alot of research before going and ended up with a 3" binder full of information, maps, show times and notes that we took with us.

We got our whole trip in a package deal.  Our hotel room, meals and park tickets all in one.  We were all given a card.  That card was our room key, our tickets into the park and paid for our meals.  We got the Dining plan and did not pay for any food while we were there (except for paying for it through the package deal we got).  The only down side to the dining plan was having to pay 18% gratuity for your table service meals (which the bill for 6 of us was around $120 to $180 a meal).  Yeah food was very expensive, so the dining plan was well worth it.
